MassChallenge HQ, Boston Part-time

Development and Alumni Assistant Intern,  Summer 2018 (25 hrs weekly): As a Development and Alumni Assistant Intern (DAA), you will support the fundraising team in helping to bring in gifts and resources from donors to sustain growth. In addition, you will help to coordinate prospect outreach, update donor records and pipelines, organize special events and own administrative tasks that support the MassChallenge mission. You will join a small team of content experts with deep experience at MassChallenge who are supporting the long-term growth and financial sustainability of the organization. You'll play a critical role on the team in building a major gift engagement pipeline that will fund new strategic opportunities. Key Responsibilities:

  • Administrative – support the VP of Development with general administrative functions including scheduling, meetings and appointments, and managing correspondence with external and internal constituents.
  • Event support - assist in preparation for donor related meetings, events, and large scale engagement activities.
  • Donor database – update activities for prospective and current donors including correspondence, tasks and pipeline changes.
  • Research – compile reports and background information on prospective donors.
  • Explore - identify individuals who support startups and the entrepreneurial ecosystem at large.

  • Communications - strong interpersonal skills, including ability to work both independently and with small team to meet goals and to develop mutual rewarding working relationships.

    • You don't need to be an expert in all of these platforms -- but you need to be competent enough with technology to learn new software quickly.
