Are you interested in being on the front lines of building out the digital health startup ecosystem here in Boston? If yes, this role is for you! The PULSE@MassChallenge Events Intern will support the planning and execution of a wide variety of programs and activities at PULSE@MassChallenge, and will have direct access to the entire event planning process from start to finish. Events are an integral part of the PULSE@MassChallenge brand, as they seek to provide a meaningful experience for all startups, partners and community members. From office operations to vendor communication, creative planning to event management, you will get unparalleled access to hands-on experience and mentorship.

With support from the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, City of Boston, and countless other private organizations, PULSE is building upon the success of our main accelerator model in Boston targeting the healthcare sector. We focus on digital health startups that are ready to validate or scale their products and services and match them with both local and national healthcare organizations.

PULSE@MassChallenge Primary Objectives & Context:

  • Help patients and entrepreneurs win
  • Promote innovation, collaboration and commercialization
  • Identify the best digital health startups in the world for our program
  • Support activities to convene the ecosystem and community


Key Responsibilities

  • Own key pieces of event pre-production including, but not limited to, tracking event status and keeping extended team on task, drafting event schedules, building registration pages, printing event materials, managing material distribution, researching vendors, tracking invoices, tracking ticket sales, assisting in event promotion, overall logistic support
  • Support event execution, coordinate on-site venue preparations and breakdowns, troubleshoot and problem solve during events, manage event volunteers
  • Collect and analyze event data and provide in-depth evaluations post-event
  • Research new sponsorship opportunities and help curate sponsorship packages
  • All other duties as assigned. May include some marketing and social media support

  • Thrive in fast paced environments and can think and act quickly on your feet
  • Are confident communicating both written and verbally with a variety of stakeholders (vendors, sponsors, VIPs, etc.)
  • Have the ability to prioritize and deliver on multiple tasks; comfortable working under tight deadlines
  • Are passionate about startups and entrepreneurship
  • Have a positive attitude and are comfortable working in both group and individually to meet goals and develop working relationships

  • You are well-versed in technology: We use: Macs, PCs, Microsoft Office, Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Google Apps (Mail, Calendar, Documents, etc.), Eventbrite and custom web applications and databases.
    • You don't need to be an expert in all of these platforms -- but you need to be competent enough with technology to learn new software quickly.
