MassChallenge Boston - Mentor Community Internship (Spring 2018)

If you are a college student or post-graduate with a passion for creativity, innovation, and entrepreneurship, we want to meet you! MassChallenge offers semester-long and summer-long internships in all departments. Summer internships are full time positions.

MassChallenge mentors and judges are innovators, experts and entrepreneurs from the Massachusetts ecosystem, volunteering to help entrepreneurs in whatever way they can. The pool consists of over 350 mentors and judges, resulting in a rich breadth and depth of startup knowledge, experiences and human resources. There are two Mentor Community Intern positions available: mentor communications and mentor relations. Both positions aim to serve our community in order to help entrepreneurs win.

Major Responsibilities:

  • Mentor Communications (one intern)

    • Support communications with mentors and experts, including potential new mentors
    • Support the development of new ways of communicating with our expert pool
    • Support the connection and development of relationships in between startups and potential Mentors
    • Create content from the experiences of our mentors and startups over the summer.

     

    Mentor and Investor Relations (two interns)

    • Supporting Mentors and Investors in their visits and 1:1s
    • Servicing as a liaison in between Mentors and Startups
    • Ensuring that Mentors available hours are filled with pertinent startups
    • Coordinate Mentors’ experiences when they are in the office

  • You love customer service and helping people to get what they need, when they need.
  • You are a passionate writer that loves hearing one’s stories.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and execute on the responsibilities you are given
  • Experience working with high profile people and organizations
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills and background – Word, Excel, PowerPoint
  • Comfortable working on tight deadlines
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

  • You can work effectively in a startup environment with relatively little structure.
  • You are independent, biased to action, resourceful, and willing to learn while doing.
  • You are well-versed in technology: We use: Macs, PCs, Microsoft Office, Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Google Apps (Mail, Calendar, Documents, etc.), Eventbrite and custom web applications and databases.
    • You don't need to be an expert in all of these platforms -- but you need to be competent enough with technology to learn new software quickly.

All MassChallenge interns are offered unparalleled access to global startups, expert mentors and top service providers. The MassChallenge team devotes our time and energy to supporting our interns to ensure your success with MassChallenge and beyond.
