Purpose of Internship: 

The PULSE@MassChallenge intern will be focused on social media and marketing but will be involved in all aspects of the PULSE Program. This internship is an exciting opportunity to work on the ground floor of a huge initiative. This opportunity will provide you with amazing access to startups and the world's best and most supportive startup resources, including top investors, corporate executives, politicians, university personnel and more. 

Reports to: Program Director & Community Manager of PULSE@MassChallenge 

Contract: 3-6 month internship (dependent upon availability)

PULSE@MassChallenge Primary objectives & context

  • Help entrepreneurs and patients win 
  • Connect entrepreneurs with the resources they need to launch and succeed immediately
  • Promote innovation, collaboration and commercialization
  • Showcase local ecosystem and benefits of healthcare in Massachusetts

With support from the Commonwealth, City of Boston, and countless other private organizations, PULSE is building upon the success of our main accelerator model in Boston targeting the healthcare sector.

  • Digital health startups that are ready to validate or scale their products and services in a clinical environment will be able to connect and be matched with providers across the state.
  • PULSE@MassChallenge serves as a Boston “hub” for healthcare startups and their collaborators. We will convene events and host networking opportunities for startups, investors and other stakeholders in the ecosystem and develop partner relationships across the states

Main Responsibilities:

Social Media/Marketing interns create strong and consistent content across all media platforms. This is critical to our organization’s positioning and branding. As a social media/marketing intern, you will:

  • Lead and maintain a social media content calendar (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn)
  • Work closely with the PULSE@MC team on developing and executing a media plan
  • Analyze social media strategy and provide insight and recommendations on social media
  • Support events by publicizing every event on social media
  • Work with startups to ensure that their stories are captured and displayed
  • Consult startups on their marketing initiatives, branding strategies and social media content
  • Track coverage of competitors in similar industries to leverage reporting opportunities
  • Identify key journalists and reach out to them with hooks
  • Generally promote PULSE@MC within the startup ecosystem

Skills and background required:

PULSE@MassChallenge is seeking highly motivated interns passionate about working with startups. Applicants should have a strong work ethic and a lot of enthusiasm for developing their skills and their career in the entrepreneurial ecosystem. In addition to having:
